SYNOPSIS
In 1871 a band of Apache, seeking revenge, attack a lone covered wagon traveling west killing the parents and leaving 18-year-old Brian Jamison barely alive. Miraculously, a passing wagon train reaches the fateful site. They bury the dead and treat Brian’s wounds, whereupon he learns that his 10-year-old brother, Chad, was not among the dead. Full of worry, Brian can only hope that Chad is alive and was taken captive!
Believing his brother is still alive, Brian vows to rescue Chad, at all costs and against all obstacles. Leaving his first love, Abi, he embarks on a perilous search for Chad that will try his endurance, challenge his perspectives, and push his will to live beyond reason. When Brian must choose between his life, his brother’s life or the life of a friend, his destiny changes forever.
Set against the backdrop of the violent and turbulent Wild West, Brian’s Search is more relevant today than ever. Along his perilous path, Brian learns that life - and love - are fragile and require great sacrifice. But, for Brian, will the sacrifice be too much?
DIRECTOR'S VISION
When I was young, my father would show me movies like Silverado and The Road Warrior, and my life was forever changed. My teenage years were filled with Action movies and Westerns. My friends and I would recreate the scenes we saw in these amazing films on VHS. As I started to develop as a filmmaker, I was greatly inspired by the independent spirit of Robert Rodriguez and his film El Mariachi. This showed me that with the right components, great independent action films could be made.
Brian's Search is the kind of action movie that rarely gets to be made anymore: simple, streamlined, with action scenes that rely on physical action rather than computer generated effects. Brian's Search is a straightforward yet compelling film which bears resemblance to its predecessors, like Young Guns, 310 to Yuma and The Revenant, which feature easy to explain plots where the audience can get completely behind their hero in their journey to right the wrongs that have been committed. This, combined with its setting in the Old West, will be nothing short of amazing. I want to build the film with crisp dialogue, simple yet understandable motivations and action scenes designed to show off the stunts that are enhanced by the dramatic elements of the story that make the action that much more gripping.
The action in Brian's Search will be nothing short of awesome. I believe that those who love action movies love to feel like they're in the action and see every detail of it; not just shaky camera moves or choppy editing. We want to see the action!
Combining all these elements will make Brian's Search an amazing cinematic experience that I cannot wait to put together and share with you.

John Lyde
Director
With more than 50 director credits, 81 editor credits, and 65 cinematography credits, John Lyde has traveled throughout the world directing various genres of movies in picturesque locations such as Turkey, Ireland, Costa Rica, French Polynesia, Aruba and most recently England. John is also an experienced episodic television series director and action director. He routinely works with a team of seasoned motion picture artisans who together act as a well-oiled machine to produce stunning visuals with a limited budget.
